The Caledonia Ramblers Hiking Club was formed in 1974 by a group of outdoors recreationalists in Prince George. The principle activities of the Ramblers include leading day, weekend, and week-long backpacking trips, from spring to fall, in the Prince George area. During the winter months, the Ramblers lead snowshoe trips in our local area and host slide shows that are open to the public. The Ramblers are heavily involved in trail development and maintenance in our region and are largely responsible for the new, and very popular, Ancient Forest Trail and Driscoll Ridge Trail east of Prince George. They publish the Central Interior Trail Guide, which is now in its 34th year and have participated in various land use planning initiatives such as the Prince George Land and Resource Management Plan, the Sugarbowl-Grizzly Den Park Master Plans, and the Prince George City Trails Task Force. The Ramblers also represent our local region provincially as members of the Federation of Mountain Clubs of British Columbia .
